Lanny was born and raised in
Greencastle, Pennsylvania and has worked in radio since 1954
starting as a go-for at WAYZ in beautiful
downtown Waynesboro. While in the U. S. Air Force
in 1957 and 58 stationed in Japan, he broadcast
on the local US FM radio WSDO, Sado Shima.
With only one turntable to play music such as Grandpa Jones
and Little Jimmy Dickens, he talked a
good bit just to keep the broadcast line open.
Lanny is also an accomplished Bluegrass musician, having played with Bluegrass bands in
Europe and through out the eastern United States.
The "The Bluegrass Connection" was first broadcast on radio over three years ago.
